I never did post pictures of our house here. And when Kat came to visit back in September (previous post) she helped me decorate and organize a chunk of my house. She is so detail oriented. She taught me little things - like noticing that the window in the middle of our stairwell should be open to let the sunshine in (and she made ME get on the top of the ladder to do it, and I did). And she even forced me to throw out some of my ancient kitchen supplies and finally bite the bullet and replace them with new pretty ones - sadly, something I couldn't/wouldn't have done on my own :{
Disclaimer... I realize these pictures are exactly like most makeover before and after pictures I hate. The before pictures are taken at the very worst moment - when the persons hair is probably ratted to look worse and then pulled back in a headband, shoulders are hunch, holey t-shirts are worn, and frowns are forced. Then the after pictures are taken at the all too perfect, not normal moment, before the person walks or talks or breaths or lives life. But it is what it is. I didn't think to take before pictures until it was too late. The house was destroyed because we were busy working on projects and the kids were freely running a muck. But oh well, lets be honest, my house is not the most orderly & clean one on the block anyways. And it wasn't worth it to try and pick up and calm the chaos just for a silly before picture. BUT, here you have them...
Dinning Room (before and after - I love the curtains in here):
Master Bedroom (I picked the yellow and gray combo and love what we did with it):

I did have that wall up before Kat came. I asked PJ what he thought about it one day after I had it done because he hadn't said anything to me about it yet. He responded that it just looked cluttered - which is why I probably haven't decorated before, if not done right it just feels like more clutter. I was worried what Kat was going to say about it. But Kat said I did good and left it the way it was but we added the red accents. The block on the far right had a red 6 in it but my destructive guest the following month ;) shattered it. In her defense, I didn't have that shelf up there securely enough... which has now been fixed. Another red accent will be added and there is now a red W on the front door as well.
Kat also helped me make the decision to move the girls into the same room and dedicate the extra room as the guest room:

Girls Room:
I know there are several people, including Dallin Wilson ;), who will appreciate the splash of color that has now been added to my mostly black and white decor that I've loved so much all these years. Despite our previous view of less is more, we really like the homey feel that everything now has. Thanks Kat!
