Thanksgiving Left Overs

Thanksgiving is all about left overs. And it just so happens I took hundreds (literally) of pictures. So here are a few of my favorite left overs from our week of Arizona Thanksgiving that didn't make it in other posts...
Tyler loves trains. So as we were getting ready to leave for Arizona PJ decided that he would take Tyler to the airport on the train. He was in heaven. As they were getting their tickets Tyler was getting very anxious that they would miss the train. And then he couldn't stop talking once they got on it. Totally worth the extra 30 minutes to get to the airport!

This is probably the only happy picture that I could have taken of Dylan on the airplane (and it was taken as soon as we got on). He was a royal booger. He whinned and cried and screamed and did not like being cooped up. The way home was better but still not great. The flights could not have ended fast enough. The older two on the other hand were just fine. They had their iPhone loaded up with shows, throw in some treats and pop, and they were good to go.

The first two nights in AZ we stayed with the Petersons. We went to Church in our old ward and had the opportunity to see some friends. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to see everyone we would have liked. The whole time we were there PJ kept repeating, "Why did we move again? Why did we move again?" And that wasn't just because of the weather ;) We miss our friends!

(Lauren Moore, Meili & Rhyan Smedley, Parker Peterson, Christopher Moore, Summer Thomas, Brynn, Nathan Black)
One night Jill and I went to check on the kiddos and we couldn't find Tyler anywhere?! Somehow he had put himself to sleep way under the bed?!?
Everyone had their jobs to do when it came to the food...

...whether it was baking, peeling apples, grilling, scrubbing potatoes, taste testing or just eating!
We loved being outside!
Just 'cause...how sweet...

Dallin and Tyler having fun...

Dylan loved the attention...
(with Grandma and Aunt Erin)
Brynn decided it was a little too scary that high up...

Laura found herself a new little buddy...

...he now walks around asking where his buddy is, or saying he needs a buddy.

Thanksgiving Activities

Not that I need to state the obvious, but I'm kind of bossy and I like to be in charge and have things organized - and when I'm not, I tend to get a little on edge. So I was very impressed with Trav this trip. Not only did he have all the sleeping arrangements made, menu's planned out and food already bought, but he also had activites booked. It was great! I love quality family time!!
Monday we spent over 4 hours at a place called Amazing Jake's - kind of an indoor arcade with a mini amusement park and buffet. Young and old had a blast. I didn't know who my daughter was...she ran from one ride to the next (no attitude) and was thrilled.
Then on Tuesday we spent the afternoon at Shamrock Farms. We had a picnic and then went on their tour. We got to see the cows and how things work. We played and we got free icecream and milk. Yes, my kids even fed a baby cow...

Pretty much we wore everyone out...totally worth it!

Turkey Bowl

Its no secret that the Wilson boys are, uh, competitive. I wish there was a stronger word that I could use in describing them. But either way...they are quite the confident bunch. After this last go around they actually decided that from here on out we need a spreadsheet - a spreadsheet that would record games played and the winners - so that people needn't go on bragging without cause.
And since we had all the Wilson boys we could handle all at one time for Thanksgiving, they decided to have their very own Turkey Bowl. It was great fun.
The teams:

As I was getting ready I asked PJ if the other women were playing. To which he quickly replied that he didn't think so, but that they were asking if I would come and take pictures. Well, as it turns out, that was probably his nice way of saying he didn't want me to play :) But I did take some great action shots...

There was someone in the game that wasn't a bundle of testosterone...oh the grace, the beauty...just look at that throw... Go Erin!...and her husband didn't mind if she played (although he isn't technically a Wilson boys so that must be why) Moving on...

The score, because there has to be a score, was 4 - 2 .
"We don't play for fun; We play to win."
(one of PJ's sayings that I learned very early on)
