Family Vacation 2010: The Parks

Our first stop was Disney's Animal Kingdom... This one was definitely my personal favorite. I was very impressed with the beauty of the park, the majesty and proximity of the animals and all the hands on activities and education/conservation. But what really made the day was Tyler getting to live out one of his dreams. He loves to watch the show, Life. And ever since he saw an episode on Africa he has wanted to go, badly. He's even called and begged Grampa Peper to take him there (he knows Grampa has been before). Well he got to go to Africa that day...

He even got out his binoculors for the 'safari' and had a blast spotting the animals in the 'wild' and then finding them on the 'map' that was located on the tram.

Brynn was a little nervous to go on the 'safari' but we assured her that it was just like the zoo and she'd be very safe. Well it didn't take her long at all to realize that the animals were very close and obviously not in cages (oops). She was not happy about that. So we told her that this time we were the ones in the cage and we were very protected. She relaxed some and enjoyed herself and by the end of the day she was even voluntarily petting a goat...

Yes, this even after the 'safari' incident AND a very large, very close gorilla yelled at us and scared her to death (honestly it even scared me a little). The only one who never got on board with touching the animals was Dylan...

But Dylan did enjoy the train ride and was all about saying "All Aboard!" for the rest of the trip. He got very excited and would point everytime a tram, train, or anything like it passed by.

And since I knew Tyler would be excited about being in Africa, we also ate at the Tusker house there with Mickey and friends...

I can hear their fists pounding into the aquarium glass. And I love the photo of Wynnie with Daisy Duck. :}

I love that Dylan says "All Aboard"! I wish I could hear him say it in person. I loved the picture of Tyler's binoculars. And the pictures of you guys with the Disney characters turned out really good!
