Swim Season

My kids have always needed their goggles for swimming. Well this year Tyler decided that he didn't like the sun shinning in his eyes. So this is his new look for the pool...
... yes sunglasses over the goggles. Maybe not his best look, but it works for him!
Kate has been a trooper and has taken her naps at the pool when needed. I've discovered that she must be having some reaction to the sunscreen when I put it on her face so we've had to try other things. The hat worked pretty good cause she didn't seem to mind or touch it. Here's hoping that stays the case.
She hasn't loved the water. Which surprised me cause she likes her baths - think it must have to do with the colder temperature, the rowdy kids, and the splashing water all about her. But she's adjusting...
Lots of our summer days have been running from one thing to the next, maybe only stopping off at home for an hour here or 45 minutes there (you know to get a necessary shower or something like that). So imagine PJ's comment the other night when he asked how, if we are hardly home, the house could possibly look the way it does. So we are home today. Friends are here playing and I'm trying to get a few things under control. And I decided to play a fun 'magic game' with the kids. We took a MAGIC eraser, cut it, put water on it and then watched to see how many colors they could get to disappear off the walls, doors, etc...
Totally fun right??!?!

Think my friend will ever let her kids 'play' here again?!
But of course a few seconds into the fun (honestly most of the kids seemed to think it was great) Brynn starts complaining and asks Brooklynn if she really thinks this is fun. Brookie responds that yeah, she does. And Brynn tells her well that's ok but she doesn't really have to do it anymore. Leave it to Brynn to take the 'fun' out of things ;) Geez.

Hey - if you're willing to keep them, I'd say it's your perogative about what you do with them! I'm thrilled you chose to put them to work! Guess I know who will be cleaning our walls from now on... :)
PS: thank you for keeping them. ;)

LOVED the great "game" you came up with. Maybe we should spend the family reunion at my house playing fun "games" with the kids. See how many more you can come up with by August. ;)
