Some needed updates...

Tyler finally lost his first tooth right before we left for our Disney World trip.  And the very day we returned from that same trip he pulled out his second tooth.  Now he's got a nice hole in his mouth :)


And yes, while we didn't get as much accomplished on PJ's day off as we had hoped, we did get Kate her new big girl bed...

... she didn't really understand what was going on or what we were talking about while we were shopping and hauling the thing home.  And she kept saying "daddy break my crib" when he took it down and put it away in the garage.  And she has asked for daddy to put her crib back since then, but she was still pretty excited to sleep on her bed.
So the girls room went from a queen bed and a crib...

... to two single beds...

And yes, I realize they are different heights.  But the beds were so tall!  There was no way Kate was going to be getting in and out of her bed when it was up on the frame.  And if/when she did fall out it would be a big fall.  So we took Kate's off the frame and put in right on the floor so she could reach it.  And the plus is she can't climb up into Brynn's so Brynn has her privacy ;)

Now, Brynn had been occupying the guest room as of late.  Its just been easier that way since the last few months we were getting Kate adjusted to no bottles and potty training, etc.  And Brynn gets to stay up a little longer at night reading in bed.  But she was rather excited about her new bed as well.  And all of a sudden she had a desire to be back in "her own room".  So we tried it out.  And it didn't really work too well.  According to Brynn, Kate wouldn't stop talking while they were trying to go to sleep.  And the two girls were by my bedside about three times during the night (several nights in a row) - which Brynn says is because Kate would wake up screaming for no reason.  Well we moved Brynn back out and Kate has slept soundly every night since.  Huh, it couldn't be Brynn could it?!?  Not Brynn... my child who has always had major sleep issues and has probably never slept soundly a night in her life.  She says its totally not her!  Experience says she's wrong.  So we'll have to figure out how to get the girls back in the same room together eventually.  But for now Kate's doing good.  And even though she is still not falling asleep for her naps most days - she prefers to sing to herself - she has stayed in her bed until I've come back to get her each day this week.  And quiet time was my biggest worry with transitioning her out of the crib and into a bed.  So, so far so good.  I can't complain!

Daylight Savings was a couple weeks ago.  And while its not super fun to get up when it is still dark outside, I much prefer that to it getting dark at 5pm!!!!  I love spending our evenings outdoors.  And so we are now able to take our Sunday beach walks again...

And we discovered a new gator in our pond!  See him?...

Its the little guy just in front of the bushes up on the sand.  And that's how we know it isn't our usual Harlow.  This gator is much smaller.  We were very excited to discover that Harlow has friends :)

And I left the best update for last...
I got the following picture text from my friend Cyndee Young, "Look someone else got stuck in the same place!!!"

It was Cyndee's husband Steve who stopped to help that morning I was stuck.  And we had actually just driven by the same scene on the way home from Tyler's baseball game barely 24 hours after my little incident.  So PJ had already grabbed his truck and gear and headed back to help (his truck is in her picture) since he was all too familiar with what now needed to be done.  My response to her was this, "I know!!!  We just saw them and it made me feel SO good!  Is that bad??  That's bad."  That was bad.  But it was very true.  It made me feel a ton better realizing that I wasn't the only one to fall prey to the sneaky ground.  And I'm glad that my experience helped someone else out ;)  They got this guy out way faster than me!
