PJ and I decided it was time for a quick weekend temple trip. Preston didn't have work the Friday before Memorial Day so we took the kids out of school and headed to Orland Thursday night. We decided to make this more relaxing and just stay at one of the Marriott resorts where there would be plenty to do. We also convinced our friends, the Sharps, they wanted to come too. We got adjoining rooms with them so it would be easier to do a babysitting/temple swap. We spent all day Friday playing at the resort (while the Sharps went to DisneyWorld). Then Friday night they watched the kids while we went to the temple. Then Saturday morning they went to the temple while we played with all the kids at the resort again. Then we headed home Saturday afternoon.
Oh, and Dylan has been asking for a Seat Pet from the very first day he saw the infomercial for them (a long long long time ago). Birthdays and Christmas have come and gone and we never got him one, despite he's pleas and requests. But when we were in Bed Bath & Beyond one day we saw them on clearance. A price that I couldn't say no to anymore. But I've had them in my closet for a while now and decided to surprise the kids when they got in the car for this trip :) they were very happy!
Tyler loved the water slides and insisted I have fun on them too... I love that he loves to have fun with me so of course I went - I just wish my video was more, uh, graceful.
When we were swimming we heard them announce that a guy from Gator Land was there to do a presentation. So we went and checked it out. Cool stuff...
They also had free carnival games set up where the kids won lots of fun prizes...
The Gator Land guy stuck around and let us hold his alligator. That totally made our day!!!
This little girl was exhausted from all the fun. Friday after swimming we went back to the room to get ready and dressed to go get some dinner and she asked if she could take a nap. I said yes and she seriously went and put herself to bed...
