Preston and I set a goal to attend the temple 12 times this year. We have 4 temples that are all about 6 hours away. So we knew this would be a challenging goal that would require time, money, and dedication. But we wanted to do it for us, and for our children... There is a lesson to be learned for all of us as we sacrifice to make temple attendance a priority.
So this month we chose to attend the Atlanta Temple. We made the drive once Preston got home from work on Friday evening - arriving a little before midnight. The next morning, after breakfast, Preston went to the temple while the kids and I stayed at the hotel and swan.
Then we cleaned up and packed up and I went to the temple while Preston took the kids to get a snack and play at a nearby park.
When I was done they picked me up and we got a late lunch at Sweet Tomatoes. Then we made the drive home... getting in around 10pm on Saturday night.
Kate has been loving all the "popcorn trees" that are in bloom right now. She and I have talked about them extensively. But on this trip Kate discovered that daddy thought there was really popcorn on the trees. So she needed to show him that they were really just beautiful flowers...
