PJ TDY

Last week Preston had to go on a TDY for some training up at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL.  Apparently we were not very clear on what was going on with the kids.  Because Monday evening when daddy should have been getting home, and wasn't, Kate got very upset on how late he was.  I explained that he would be gone all week... and she melted... she was very unhappy about the situation...

 ... I sent Preston that picture of her and so he "called" before bed to smooth things over :)

But Friday once the kids got home from school we got in the car and drove up to the DeSio's house - they are stationed there at Maxwell - and met up with them and PJ.  We went to dinner all together and then took the kids back to their house.  They had learned we had plans to go to the Birmingham Temple Saturday.  So they insisted that the kids spend the night with them so that we could go and attend the temple together.  He and I drove up to Birmingham.  Got up and went to the temple first thing in the morning - I think its the first small temple we'd been to - and then we drove back, got the kids, and headed home!

Oh, but for lunch Preston took me to this restaurant he had eaten at earlier in the week.  He noticed on their menu something he thought I would love...

... and PB&J hamburger with bacon.  Yep, it was delicious!
What amazing friends we have!  I love that they love our kids and were so willing to help us attend the temple!
