4 days for the 4th!

As tradition would have it, we drove over to Indiana to spend the 4th of July with Gramma and Grampa Peper. And as an extra special bonus the Warrens came for holiday as well!... we've missed them since they moved in January.
We got there Thursday afternoon (yep, even PJ got to come believe it or not).
Then Friday, once PJ and Clay got back from golfing, we headed to the pool! And Brynn was all sorts of brave for some reason... going down all the slides (even the scary one) and jumping off the diving board. The kids had a great time - even Jack who doesn't like to swim and didn't want to really go.

And they needed some DQ ice cream after that...
That night was the "big" fireworks show at the Speedway right by my parents house.
So we enjoyed them from the driveway. Well, "we", did not include Brody and Dylan and Kate who were already too tired and in bed.

And Brynn had come up with a clever 4th of July dessert all on her own. So Gramma took her to the store to get the stuff she needed and she made us fireworks cookies to enjoy...

Saturday we had to go to the much anticipated showing of Cars 2!!...Even if the kids were well behaved because they were so excited (and had popcorn), it was nice to have the theater practically all to ourselves. The rest of the day included shopping for the girls and more playtime for the kids.
Sunday was of course church and Sunday dinner (don't know what Brynn would do without Grampa's mashed potatoes).
Then Monday morning we woke up and went to the Bloomington 4th of July Parade...

Pretty sure the kids went just for the candy ;) that they've learned to expect.
Then we grabbed some lunch and headed home so the guys could get in one more round of golf while the kids entertained themselves outside with water...

It sure was great having these guys around again...
(Tyler, Brynn, Dylan, Jack, Brody)
But then after dinner we had to say good bye again and leave... at least this time we know we will see them again soon!

that water park looks so fun. I love Brynn's cookies and the parade was so festive. Wish we would have gone to a parade. You are lucky to have family so close!

Okay, I am offically extremely jealous!! I miss you guys so much!! I'm glad we get to see you soon.

I am totally with Brynn about that water slide. That looks scary!! I'm so proud of her for going down it!! You got some great action shots. Oh, and I didn't know Jack doesn't like to swim. Is this a new thing?

I didn't recognize Brynn at first in the picture of them eating ice cream. I don't know if it was the haircut or that she's looking grown up or what. Crazy!!

Looks like you guys had tons of fun!
