Grandma's and Gingerbread

Grandma Eccles has passed on her love of making gingerbread creations to my children. And we've been missing her this holiday season, which is maybe what sparked Tyler's strong desire to create something out of gingerbread. He's been very insistent so PJ made a phone call to his mom and then headed out to the store with the kids to get the necessary supplies. Their decision was to make holiday trains. You can just see the joy on Tyler's face...

Dylan was funny. He just sat there and ate and ate and ate and had little to show for his time. And then PJ would go over and redirect his focus and help him build a little. And then you could see him digress. For instance, PJ helped him build up the train and then gave him the oreos and told him his job was to make sure the wheels got put on. I watched him very intently get the frosting on the oreo and then start to put it on the train. Then he stopped, looked at the oreo with all the frosting on it, then looked back at the train, and then he popped that oreo right in his mouth.

Oh well. Everyone had fun and amazingly no one, including Dylan got a tummy ache.

And they were let loose with the decorations and did a grand job...

Tyler was looking at the finished creations later and decided that daddy's was the best cause it actually looked like a train (daddy's not pictured). He decided that his actually looked more like a monster truck. So now he calls it his monster truck train.
