So yesterday the kids had an assembly with Radio Disney. Tyler came home chatting up a storm about all that they talked about - how to eat healthy (you know, no Doritos or chocolate milk or donuts) and get lots of exercise and they even had a chart to log their 30 minutes a day. Well he quickly put all that he learned into action. He cleared out the living room and started running in circles and asked me how long 30 minutes was. I told him that the clock hand was at the two and it needed to get all the way over to the eight. He cheerfully said, "otay" and kept running. I chuckled to myself but five minutes later he was still going strong. He told me he was getting closer to the eight and requested that I have some carrots ready for him when he was done. I was impressed he made it five minutes and went off to get his snack ready. Five minutes later he was still running and requested that I sharpen his new pencil so that it was ready for him to check off his chart cause he was almost at the eight. And what do you know??!?... that kid literally ran in circles in the living room for a half an hour straight!!... all on his own and he was happy about it. I have videos for proof but can't get them to upload. I'll keep trying cause you wouldn't want to miss out on the excitement of him running in circles over and over and over and over... :)
OK I got em (appearing in backwards order I believe)! Well at least all of them except the first one because it was too long - too bad that's the one where he is explaining all about exercising and what he can and can't eat, etc. Oh well...

Brynn is SO excited that her birthday is on the last day of school this year. One, because she thought I'd cave and say it was ok for her to wear sandals (aka toeless backless shoes) to school - which I will. And two, because that means that for the first time she gets to take birthday treats in to her friends. Now the last day (I mean hour and twenty minutes) of school and her birthday are on Monday. But yesterday her teacher asked me to bring the treats in today instead. Inside I was sad and wanted to bring them on her actual birthday (I'm crazy weird I know). However, Brynn sided with her teacher since some of her friends wouldn't be there Monday. So today it was. Normally I would have taken her to the store to help me pick out what she wanted to take. But since I wasn't give any notice, that left me going last night after she was in bed. I asked her what she wanted me to get and she said she wasn't sure, maybe cookies or cupcakes or some sort of toy. I asked her if she thought bubble necklaces would be a fun idea. And the response I got was "MOM! I am in SECOND grade!! Bubbles are NOT cool anymore." OKAY. Message received. Silly me. So... this is what I came up with and I guess I ended up doing pretty good. Geez, no pressure or anything from my second grader. |

And since I was already going in to the school to take Brynn's birthday treats and help out with Tyler's classroom Pizza & Game Party I decided to take in the teachers end of year gifts. So these are the thank you's I made for the teachers and bus driver. |

I cant stop laughing as I picture Tyler running in circles in the living room shouting out demands!! Priceless! And good for him to make it the entire time! Putting the things he learned into practice!!!
And very cute treats/teacher gifts!!
Lemonade lover that I am, I think your teacher gifts were a *great* idea! Very nice.
I hope you got some action shots of Toller running -- which you're so good at -- in case you never get the videos to post.
Oh the pressure from your 2nd grader!
Tyler is so funny. Look at your cute teacher gifts too! The sticky hands were very fun.
