PJ joined some of his friends in forming a team to run in the USO Mud Run that was this past Saturday. Before Shot:
Some of the little boys wanted to be just like their daddies and taped their shoes too... somehow Dylans ended up on his arms later?!
The night before the race - like 10pm the night before - Kara and Chablis (Scotts wife) decided to run also. So I hung out with the 10 kiddos and cheered everyone on (Beth, Mike's wife showed up a little later on with their two kids and helped).

During Shot:
After shot: The teams had to cross the finish line together. These boys crossed in about 35 minutes putting them in 11th place. (The mom's finished in 44 minutes!).
They weren't as dirty as I expected - although I was still finding mud in PJ's ears hours later. But they had a firetruck a little bit before the finish line that was spraying the runners off.
Kat Olsen and girls showed up towards the end and brought the party with them - they were armed with bubbles, chalk, and candy. The kids had great fun.
And we eventually gathered everyone up and headed home, pleased with how our morning started...
...and maybe a little tired.
Dave Bereda (Brennen's Dad/Co-worker), PJ, Andy Johnson (ward member), Mike Johnson (new ward member), Scott Adams (ward member/neighbor)
Its common knowledge that if you don't want to lose your shoes in the mud than you better duct tape them to you. Can you imagine how thrilled the boys were when I showed up with stylish duct tape for them!... they had a choice of flames, or coordinating bright yellow, purple tied die, or hot pink :)

Front Row: Henry, Gracie & Lydia Adams, Tyler, Jonathan Morgan
Strollers: Lorelai and Ada Morgan hiding in the back, Brennen Bereda, Dylan
(Brynn wasn't with us this morning because she was having a fun sleepover at the Hartmans)

Well, that looked like a fun morning! So, you didn't run because you volunteered to watch the kids? Or you're just not in love with mud?
Okay, I really have no desire to run a race, but there is a run out here called the Dirty Dash, that I really want to do. It's a mud run. That looked like lots of fun.
Loved the duct tape!
Jared commented on one of the pictures that it kind of looked like Wipeout. =)
And you said they didn't get very dirty, but I would like to point out that PJ's shorts were white when he started - not brown. ;)
And I want to know why you didn't run, either.
Thanks for watching my kids so I could do this even though you could have done it so much faster! PJ, you are so fast. I owe you duct tape Kelly.
